The Knife Silent Shout (Rabid, 2006)
The third album released by Swedish electronic brother/sister duo Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, Silent Shout is a set of songs both, sometimes simultaneously, sinister and playful. Though the unending vocals effects wear thin with repeated listens, the hooks keep you coming back for more. It's a good thing too, because repeat listens are necessary to truly reveal that the Knife is more than just a novelty. Songs such as "Neverland," "One Hit" and "Marble House" possess intriguing musical backdrops while providing plenty of lyrical mystique.
